We are seeking a Designer 2 with a proven track record for creating usable, seamless, elegant and impactful design solutions, deeply rooted in customer needs. The ideal candidate will feel very comfortable designing through all phases of the product cycle. You will have the opportunity to contribute exemplary work in a number of design areas including concepting and prototyping, information architecture, interaction design, and working with research and design development. You will work proactively through the ambiguity of new product definition, the application of new and emerging technologies and ensure the resulting experiences are human, beautifully crafted, and delightful to customers.  

You will also work with a dedicated and engaging team in a highly creative environment, collaborating to accomplish shared goals in an agile environment. You will communicate and collaborate across disciplines and articulate your design solutions across the team with a high level of influence and impact.

Qualifications

Required Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, or related field AND 3+ years experience working in product or service design 
  • OR equivalent experience (e.g., experience using design thinking to solve problems). 
  • 3+ years experience in Content Management Systems, including editorial, catalogs, educational publishing (I.e. Textbooks) OR corporate intranets OR large consumer facing sites with large content repositories 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • An online portfoliowith URL’s demonstratingyour design process,UX flows, interaction patterns, and visual design skills 
  • Demonstrated experience in all aspects and levels of interaction/UX design from information architecture to systems and workflows to micro-interactions  
  • Proficiency with information architecture, interaction design, user research, or usability testing; including a variety of interaction documents including user scenarios, task flows, conceptual models, annotated wireframes, creative briefs, competitor analysis, and heuristic analysis  
  • Experience with information design 

Product Design IC3 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,300 – $182,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 – $198,600 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Work through ambiguity of new product definition, the application of new and emerging technologies and ensure the resulting experiences are human, beautifully crafted, and delightful to customers. 
  • Help define crisp product design direction for your areas, and collaborate with partner design, research, product management, marketing and engineering teams around the company and globe, leveraging partnerships for diverse perspective on our products.  
  • Lead by example with clean, focused, and inspiring work, designing through all phases of the product cycle. Conceptualize and design original ideas that bring simplicity and ease of use to complex design issues.  
  • Provide thought leadership and storytelling skills with the ability to contribute to highly polished design prototypes, vision vignettes, framing memos, creative briefs, and other communication artifacts to express inspiring product vision. 
  • Have a foundational understanding of AI platform and models.  
  • Scope and prioritize tasks and goals with partner teams. 
  • Have proficiency in a variety of design & productivity tools: chiefly Figma, as well as Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, etc. 
  • Have experience in inclusive design and accessibility.
