Who You Will Work With
Join the Product Design and Research team at Interac, responsible for UX across all digital products. As a Product Design and Research Intern, you will collaborate closely with design and research leads to help develop, evaluate, and refine the next generation of Interac products while supporting key UX Research initiatives.
In This Role, You Can Expect To
• Support Product Designers with prototypes, iterations, and critique sessions.
• Create prototypes for presentations, user testing, and development needs.
• Take ownership of your work and present to stakeholders.
• Support design and research across Interac product lines (e-Transfer, Debit, KONEK, Verified).
• Review designs for accessibility compliance.
• Support UX Research through surveys, A/B testing, insights synthesis, documentation, and reporting.
• Participate in usability testing, interviews, heuristic evaluations, and secondary research.
• Communicate research insights and collaborate with design and research leads.
What You Will Do
• Translate business and stakeholder needs into design solutions using Figma.
• Apply Design Thinking to empathize, ideate, prototype, and iterate.
• Create polished, user-friendly interfaces aligned with accessibility standards.
• Present design concepts and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Contribute to and leverage design systems for consistency and brand alignment.
• Assist in planning and executing research activities.
• Analyze research findings and translate insights into recommendations.
• Create research artefacts such as reports, journey maps, and highlight decks.
• Ensure research learnings inform design decisions.
What You Bring
• Eligibility to work full-time in Canada.
• Currently completing an undergraduate degree in Interaction Design, UX/UI, or related field.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating direct contributions and diverse skills.
• High proficiency in Figma with strong UI craft.
• Experience with UX research methods including usability testing, surveys, interviews, and A/B testing.
• Familiarity with tools like FigJam and Jira.
• Strong responsive web and mobile design experience.
• Ability to communicate design rationale clearly and confidently.
• Strong time management and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with accessibility best practices is a plus.
• Experience with AI tools, motion graphics, Agile teams, or working with developers is a plus.
What We’re Offering
Hourly Pay Range: $21 – $23
Internship Term: May – August 2026
