The Innovation Group is a values-driven culture with a shared purpose of future proofing State Farm. The Product Designer role works across the innovation lifecycle leveraging strengths of end-to-end design practices, user research methods, and tirelessly advocates for delightfully functional user experiences. Working as a Product Designer in the Innovation Group affords you the opportunity to influence large-scale change spanning residential, mobility, and emerging technologies all focused toward helping more people in more ways where and when they need it most.

  • Collaborate with peers, products, and business partners to co-create solution designs through iterative, rapid cycles of experience design and research
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the UX Design/Human Centered Design process and other appropriate approaches to co-create solutions with product partners
  • Develop and present user flows, wireframes, and prototypes to enable the audience to understand the design interventions, provide feedback, and adopt visual concepts
  • Serve as a resource to those with less experience within the discipline
  • Demonstrate high levels of proficiency using industry tools and practices to deliver artifacts and support other product designers
  • Work independently, under general direction, on complex assignments involving both architecture and design
  • Continually refresh and refactor skills with UX industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies
  • Provide recommendations and perspectives for continuous Experience Design improvement
  • Collaborate with other designers to ensure the design system aligns with the overall brand identity and user experience strategy

Qualifications

  • Proven design experience with expertise in design systems and interaction patterns across muti-form factors
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma, including building UI components in different modes and utilizing Figma Plugin APIs
  • Demonstrated experience working with design tokens in a multi-platform environment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for effective articulation of design decisions, concepts and visual storytelling
  • Familiarity with CSS variables, pre-processors (such as LESS, SASS), JSON, or similar technologies related to design token creation
  • A portfolio showcasing previous work on UX design systems and component libraries is highly desired

For Colorado, Hawaii and Washington State candidates: Salary Range: $90,600-$156,200

For California, New York, and CT candidates: Potential salary range: $90,600-$177,500

Potential yearly incentive pay: up to 15% of base salary
