Senior Designer UX/UI

We are seeking a highly-creative, problem solving focused Senior Designer (UX/UI) to join our growing team and contribute to interactive and website design projects for a full time remote position (US-based). For this role we are in search of someone who can work on our interactive projects at scale—someone with experience thinking strategically about content strategy and architecture, navigating large stakeholder groups, and effectively balancing priorities between clients and users. Applicants must have a solid portfolio, experience with the fundamentals of UI and UX design, excellent communication skills, superb creative instincts, an eagerness to learn, and a “can-do” work ethic.

Responsibilities
Strategy & User Experience (50%)
- Contributes to and leads the development of strategy deliverables including workshops, briefs, personas, and audience, and user engagement strategies.
- Designs clear user experiences by creating sitemaps, wireframes, and prototypes that are informed by user experience best practices, brand and content strategy, and audience needs.
- Collaborates with the Engineering team to create user-centered experiences that are achievable, accessible, and scalable.
Design & Production (40%)
- Produces mockups, supplementary components, style tiles, developer handoff materials, and style guide documentation for client websites and product sites.
- Works in partnership with Project Management and Engineering teams to oversee the final execution and delivery of digital deliverables, conduct quality assurance testing, and ensure that they support all user-facing needs and goals.
- Leads design deliverables on interactive projects and digital design system projects from start to finish—developing a clear design vision for a project, and communicating concepts and ideas to clients.
Secondary Responsibilities (10%)
- Seeks opportunities to streamline and document our internal design process.
- Provides occasional project guidance and advice to more junior designers and helps them hone their craft, presentation abilities, communication skills and strategic understanding.
- Contributes to case studies and Wide Eye social media.
- Exemplifies user-centric design culture, values, and principles for the broader Wide Eye team and pushes the company forward in overall trends in technology and design.
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years experience in interactive and digital design
- Strategic thinker as it relates to digital content strategy, content architecture, product design, websites, and user experiences
- Healthy understanding of nonprofit organizations and campaigns
- Demonstrated ability to turn data and insights into unique, creative solutions
- Demonstrated ability to manage large content architectures with complex and content-rich websites and/or digital products
- Experience collaborating directly with engineers to build websites and/or digital products
- Strong knowledge of graphic design principles, scaling design systems, layout, responsive design, and UI best practices
- Expert-level knowledge of Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
- Ability to perform in a fast paced and high-impact work environment
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and ability to present work to executives and larger groups
Bonus Points
- Knowledge of CSS, front-end preprocessors, and frameworks
- Working knowledge of HTML and CSS
- Experience with WordPress theme-ing
Annual salary: $75K-$110K plus benefits

Interviewing for this role follows our standard process of a screening, 2 group interviews, 1 final interview, and reference checks.
