The Senior Director of Content and Design will be accountable for Samsung.com/us operations in support of product launches for all lines of business. This includes Mobile, Digital Appliances & Visual Displays in addition to all content executions of the LOBs and cross-LOB campaign & content executions.

You will lead the overarching site content information architecture, design & UX of the site’s experience. Optimization and innovation of design needs will require deep partnerships from Platform & Engineering division’s product team to prioritize & manage through final go-live executions.

This role supports B2B and B2C site needs to achieve business eCommerce results as directed by each LOB’s eCommerce category management team, as well as the LOBs stakeholders’ marketing needs. In the same capacity, your department will perform the same functions for various cross-site/cross LOB campaigns, content, and site executions.

This role has five direct reports from each support group. It oversees budgets for Samsung.com marketing/merchandising content & operational expenses in support of Samsung.com. You will be accountable for all aspects of vendor planning, negotiations, executions of SOWs, relationships, and performance of vendors.

The goals of the eCommerce Content Operations & Design/UX team are to maximize the consumer experience, marketing & merchandising of our products for a seamless consumer experience. This can mean optimizing team work outputs to move consumers down the funnel to convert, as well as NPS/VOC sentiment to reduce friction in the journey.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead five direct reports as well as their respective team members to ensure all site executions are launched on time to satisfy stakeholders’ needs for merchandising, consumer experience and marketing.
  • Serve LOB category management & marketing teams as the key point of contact for content execution needs and project management. This includes partnering with Platforms, Engineering or Product Management division/teams.
  • Partner and define web analytics framework with eCommerce Web Analytics team. Operationalize the framework into KPIs for data-driven approach and performance of content, design as well as UX executions. Manage all reporting (quantitative & qualitative) and status reports for working and executive teams with analytics vendor.
  • Own launch activities related to content, inclusive of consumer experience journey of affected pages and experience, all copy and assets that appear on Samsung.com, site drivers to the CEJ, KPI targets, and project management and orchestration of stakeholders and execution teams.
  • Own holistic site design & UX by fielding needs from eCommerce category management teams, LOB marketing teams, and internal Content, Design & UX teams needs. Translate into discernable business requirements, design and UX annotations to then partner with product and web operations team for functional specification documentations for development efforts. Partner with HQ to ensure that US needs are being met from the source to ensure any specific US execution support needs from HQ are realized.
  • Proactively identify opportunities, areas of improvement and innovation for Content, Design and UX operational team’s ways-of-working, SOPs, SLAs, and best practices, inclusive of vendor support services.
  • Serve as the department lead single point of contact for executive needs, reports, presentations pertaining to operations and work products/execution for Samsung.com.
  • Enable test and learn program as well as personalization program with respective teams for content, design and UX needs.
  • Oversee and support your team leads in addition to their initiatives to manage partners and stakeholders’ participation and contributions.
  • Manifest an inclusive, positive work culture amongst our Samsung.com team, stakeholders, partner groups, and vendors.
  • Own and manage Human Resource duties for your org, R&Rs, employee charters/career ladder, MBO and goal setting, continuing education, policy and any other back-office support.
  • Own all management plan (e.g. budget, SOWs, deliverables) planning & executions pertaining to Content, Design and UX.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • BA/BS in marketing, business or a related field; Graduate degrees preferred.
  • At least 15 years of experience in leading website operations with a focus on strategy, consumer experience, content, design and technology.
  • Deep experience in executing best-in-class content programs for product launches and campaign executions. Focus on consumer technology products are a plus.
  • Deep experience in eCommerce promotional and merchandising programs to drive sales on your web site.
  • Deep experience in content management systems and MarTech stacks (e.g. Adobe). Has a strong understanding in web technology and the operational work streams needed to stand up content/experiences within the technology.
  • Deep experience in web analytics and standing up success measurement frameworks against content, design as well as UX of website needs. Experience in quantitative, qualitative and KPI frameworks for a branded eCommerce web site.
  • Strong program management, problem-solving, verbal/written communication and presentation experiences to all audiences, including C-suite.
  • Strong experience in working within a subsidiary work environment.
  • Proven ability to build consensus and work effectively in a highly matrixed org.
  • Proven ability to work within your own department to bring new ideas via the disciplines that your team is responsible for.
  • Passion for building relationships and proactive communication. Ability to formulate directional approaches with stakeholders to translate/delegate to team leads for further executional details.
  • Detail-oriented approach with acute ability to multitask & delegate.
  • Fluent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Fluent in Confluence/JIRA or similar management tools
