Senior Principal UX Designer

Job Description

The Oracle Health Design team is embarking on a brand-new mission to completely overhaul our healthcare experience from core EHR to the patient experience and everything in between. As a Senior Principal design lead within our team, you will have the unique opportunity of identifying and solving complex healthcare problems by collaborating closely with clinicians, developers, product management, and other UX associates to set the vision and then go build it. You will also be working to integrate automated and more intelligent processes through sophisticated responsive technologies, with AI and predictive analytics to help our users to store and access reliable information they need, within the right context. The new experiences will be game-changing for our users and will ensure safe and effective use across roles and responsibilities.

Creating a new vision for the future of healthcare requires a powerful and flexible experience that works across many apps, across device types (such as mobile, desktop, IoT, and large displays) and that adjusts naturally and fluidly through different contexts. Yet our team isn’t just making it functional. We are making it beautiful. Imagine creating data visualizations and charts that are not only easy to understand but also works of art? In this role, you will work alongside the best of designers, product managers and technologists to design solutions that organizations across the world use for their healthcare systems and operations. You will connect and partner with customers to understand their objectives and their users’ needs. Empathize with them, and envision what might make their workflows and experiences spectacularly better. Conduct explorative and evaluative user research studies and interviews to identify or verify needs, objectives and workflows. Evaluate experiences to assess discoverability, usability, accessibility and desirability.

You will be designing solutions from concept, wireframes and prototypes to detailed, visually polished and scalable experiences, ready for implementation. Leverage the existing design style guide and system, templates and components where possible – create new patterns experiences where needed. Responsibilities

You have 8+ years of experience – You have worked as a designer for at-least 8 years, preferably, and have experience designing, building and delivering products

You’re a full stack user experience designer. You look at interaction design, visual design and aesthetics, typography, motion, 3D, human factors, and more than tools in the UX designer’s toolkit. You may be better at some than, you know how to talk about each and combine them all into an experience that delights.  

You flourish with working well with others. You make the people around you better. You love to collaborate with designers, user researchers, engineers, product managers, executives, and inspire them to do their best.

You get stuff done.

You’re a phenomenal storyteller. You know that our products tell our customers a story through the than. You won’t rest until that story is a compelling one.

You love rules and you know when to break them. You think systemically because you know that creating a coherent experience requires it. But you know when the system needs to expand to accommodate a user’s varied conceptual model. And you know when to do something completely unique to create an arresting and product-defining moment in the product that makes users ooh and aah.

You don’t already know everything and you love to learn. You’re inspired by helping users solve their problems. You love finding out you’re wrong. You consume large amounts of quantitative and qualitative data to constantly refine your assumptions.

And finally, you want to be part of creating spectacular and impactful change at a company that is committed to becoming a light unto others when it comes to user experience design. You might have learned your craft via formal training or via on-the-job training. For most candidates, it’s a combination of both. US: Hiring Range: from $120,100 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
