As a vital member of Assent’s product design team, you will become part of our collective quest to connect our customers with the insight they need, and the tools required to mitigate their sustainability, environmental and global reputational risk. You will proudly demonstrate your unwavering drive, and curiosity to understand what makes our end-users tick. You will stop at nothing to design experiences that our customers will love, trust and ultimately promote!

You connect the dots between business needs, technological constraints and user needs with little effort. You demonstrate a high aptitude and appreciation for good visual design, but what really motivates you are the cross-team, cross-functional activities that reframe, refine, question, diverge, study, monitor, measure, converge and ultimately uncover problems, solutions and outcomes!

What You’ll Be Doing

You will be part of a decentralized product design team, embedded with one or more product teams dedicated to a specific customer experience area. With your product team you will drive and impart your superb design influence alongside your product manager and technical lead partners. What else will you be doing?

You Will Dig Deep Into Assent, Our Users, Products And Services

Your onboarding journey with Assent will spark an insatiable need to…

• Dig deep into understanding your users needs and goals, aiming to be an acknowledged expert for your product team, and share that deep user understanding with your peers.
• Develop a strong understanding of your product teams user experiences, but also extend that knowledge to the products and experiences owned by other teams
• Strive for an intimate understanding of our competitive landscape, and the suite of products and offerings at Assent
• Understand the various dimensions of Assent, from marketing, sales and finance, to professional services consulting, legal and regulatory
• Drive and lead research initiatives
• Validate and evaluate design decisions

You Will Measure, Monitor And Visually Synthesize

Here we expect you to…

• Plan and administer the appropriate method of usability evaluation in any given project (eg. moderated/unmoderated, remote/in-house, expert reviews, A/B testing)
• Evolve and champion how the product design team measures and tracks the user experience across our products and our services
• Pair metrics with qualitative data to understand user behavior behind the numbers

• Energize the product design team with your expertise and passion
• Foster collaboration within and across a diverse group of cross-functional stakeholders
• Advocate intensely for our end-users and instinctively frame their needs and challenges in ways that help build a shared understanding across teams

What Are We Looking For

• 8 or more years of designing applications, and experiences across a variety of platforms
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to digest, and quickly comprehend complex systems and iterate on ways to improve them
• An experimental, but decisive mind that can make evidence-based decisions with confidence
• Someone who loves storytelling, and leverages strategic methods to influence various stakeholders
• Impeccable oral and written communication skills, that consider clarity, brevity and tact in every interaction

What To Expect In Our Interview

While skills and professional experience are important, we want to learn more about you! What drives you? What excites you? We also want to respect your time, which is why in our interviews we strive for a focussed, and deliberate approach.

It all begins when you are contacted by Assent’s Talent Acquisition team for an introductory call. Beyond that, you can expect:

• An interview with the product design team’s manager. The focus will be on your professional journey, and how much you connect with the requirements of the role.
• A group interview with the entire design team, and some key members of the product management and engineering teams. In which you will present either a portfolio case study or a UX/UI/Research topic you’re passionate about.
