About the Team – OneExperience
The OneExperience team within eBay’s Core Product Design organization is a cross-functional design group spanning strategy, systems design, visual design, content, and motion. The team focuses on evolving eBay’s product and brand experience to ensure cohesion, consistency, and innovation across platforms.
The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Designer to join the Design Systems team. In this role, you will craft and evolve the design system and visual language powering the eBay experience.
You will combine visual design excellence, interaction design expertise, and systems thinking to ensure that our design systems are:
• Scalable
• Accessible
• Maintainable
• Aesthetically exceptional
• Functionally superior
This role reports to the Head of Design Systems in the Core Product Organization.
What You Will Accomplish
Design System Evolution
• Develop and refine eBay’s design system
• Create intuitive guidelines, patterns, and libraries
• Integrate strong visual and interaction design into system thinking
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Partner with Product and Engineering teams to align system evolution with business goals
• Audit product flows and ensure consistent system application
• Incorporate feedback and research insights into iterative improvements
High-Fidelity Prototyping
• Prototype and deliver polished visuals demonstrating system capabilities
• Ensure adaptability of components across diverse eBay experiences
• Maintain a high standard of design craft and cohesion
Mentorship & Innovation
• Mentor designers on strategic system usage
• Stay ahead of industry trends and continuously evolve the system
• Champion scalable and forward-thinking design solutions
What You Bring
• 5+ years of professional experience in Visual Design, Interaction Design, or related field
• Strong experience building and maintaining design systems
• Proficiency with Figma or Framer
• Familiarity with advanced prototyping tools (Proto.io, Rive, Play)
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to collaborate effectively with engineers
• Strong systems thinking mindset with exceptional visual craft
Compensation
Base Pay Range (Canada): C$133,200 – C$177,800
Total compensation may include bonus, restricted stock units, and full benefits (medical, financial, PTO, parental leave, RRSP eligibility). Final offer depends on location, experience, and skillset.
