Senior UI/UX Designer
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior UI/UX Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in nursing, Clinical Research, Information System Management, Library Science, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Technical Communications, or related fields. This role requires expertise in various design tools, the ability to create complex transactional interfaces, and experience in conducting user research and utilizing web analytics data to inform design decisions. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a medical research environment.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop user interfaces for web and mobile applications, focusing on usability, accessibility, and an optimal user experience.
- Conduct user research and gather stakeholder requirements to inform design decisions.
- Translate user research findings into actionable design solutions that meet project and user needs.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups using tools such as Axure, Figma, Balsamiq, InVision, Adobe XD, ProtoPie, Sketch, Marvel, or similar.
- Develop complex transactional interfaces, taxonomies, and metadata frameworks for content management systems used in research and clinical trials.
- Use web analytics data to guide and validate design decisions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, researchers, and other designers, to ensure cohesive and comprehensive design solutions.
- Present design concepts and user experience strategies to stakeholders and team members.
- Iterate on designs based on feedback and usability testing results.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail and ensure design consistency across all projects.
- Stay updated on the latest UI/UX trends, techniques, and technologies to continually enhance design quality.
- Manage time effectively to meet project deadlines and deliver high-quality work.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior designers and other team members as needed.
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements, including accessibility guidelines.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Clinical Research, Information System Management, Library Science, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Technical Communications, or related fields.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Axure, Figma, Balsamiq, InVision, Adobe XD, ProtoPie, Sketch, Marvel, or similar.
- Ability to execute complex transactional interfaces, taxonomies, metadata frameworks, and templates for content management systems used in research and clinical trials.
- Experience conducting user research or gathering stakeholder requirements and translating them into actionable design decisions for software development.
- Experience using web analytics data to inform design decisions.
- Ability to develop critical ideas and execute them flawlessly in a collaborative environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
- Exceptional visual and interaction design skills and craftsmanship.
- Strong UI skills, designing with hierarchy, usability, and accessibility in mind.
- High tolerance for ambiguity with a strong desire to organize it.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience as an information architect, interaction designer, or experience designer (or similar role).
- Experience with clinical and human subjects research, familiar with clinical and research workflows.
- Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and proficiency with the MS Office Suite.
Compensation and Benefits
The projected compensation range for this position is $108,700 to $147,925 per year benchmarked in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Salary at LCG is determined by various factors, including but not limited to role, location, the combination of education/training, knowledge, skills, competencies, certifications, and work experience.
