Look around the next time you’re on a plane, in a bus, or out at a cafe – chances are you’ll see more than one person using Kindle’s apps for iOS, Android, and Fire tablet or one of our dedicated E-reader devices. The Books Design Studio is seeking a talented, creative, and customer-obsessed Senior User Experience designer to join our team.

A day in the life

You will be a key strategic partner in envisioning and testing experiences to engage younger readers. We offer a creative and ownership-centric work environment where you’ll be leveraging research insights to help define new experiences for younger customers and test hypothesis with PM partners to help Kindle deliver on the promise of making every book, in every language, available on demand, everywhere customers want to read.

You are strategic and highly collaborative and will work closely with PM and User Research to define new approaches on how Kindle can address the needs of new customers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– 8+ years of UX designer or interaction designer experience
– Have an online portfolio or samples of work on resume, demonstrating experience creating great end-to-end, user-centered design solutions and patterns, across desktop and mobile devices
– Experience with design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign and prototyping in HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Ajax

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– Experience applying scrum to visual or UX design processes
– Experience with UX design of complex workflows

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $113,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $211,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
