Client advances surgery through a proprietary platform that synthesizes artificial intelligence, computer vision and augmented reality. Client’s flagship system is an advanced surgical navigation system that provides critical information unifying pre-operative imaging and planning with intraoperative performance data. Job Summary: We are seeking a talented and experienced UX Designer to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in driving discovery, design, workflows and usability testing activities for both our surgical navigation product and data products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in user research, UX design, and a good understanding of the software development lifecycle. Experience in the medical product industry and familiarity with hardware/software integration is a plus.

Responsibilities

bullet iconConduct user research through customer interviews, surveys, and usability testing to gather insights and identify user needs, pain points, and behaviors.
bullet iconCreate and maintain user journey maps, personas, and scenarios to inform design decisions.
bullet iconTranslate research findings into presentations, design concepts, requirements, wireframes, and prototypes.
bullet iconCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, product owners, UX designers, engineers, and stakeholders, to ensure user-centered design principles are integrated throughout the development process.
bullet iconDevelop and iterate on workflow and interaction designs, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience.
bullet iconUtilize existing Design System and UI styles to maintain design consistency across products.
bullet iconAlways learning about new industry trends, competitor medical devices, best practices, and emerging technologies in UX design and research.
bullet iconFocus on streamlining workflows and improving the efficiency of user interactions to enhance overall user satisfaction and productivity.
bullet iconIdentify opportunities to optimize and simplify complex processes, reducing cognitive load and minimizing user errors.

bullet iconMeasure the impact of design changes on user efficiency and effectiveness, ensuring that the UX improvements directly contribute to better user outcomes and experiences.

Skills

Must have

bullet iconBachelor’s degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Psychology, or a related field.
bullet iconMinimum of 2 years of experience in UX design and user research
bullet iconExperience conducting user research, including customer interviews, usability testing, and creating user journey maps.
bullet iconFamiliarity with hardware/software integration and the challenges associated with designing for both.
bullet iconProficiency in design and prototyping tools. We use Figma and Miro.
bullet iconStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex research findings into actionable design solutions.
bullet iconExcellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to present ideas and influence stakeholders effectively.
bullet iconKnowledge of software development processes and the ability to work closely with development teams to ensure design implementation.
bullet iconStrong proficiency in interaction design, with a solid understanding of user-centered design principles.

bullet iconExperience working in a regulated industry
bullet iconi.e. medical devices, government, aviation, automotive, aerospace, etc.
bullet iconExperience in the medical product industry, including familiarity with IEC 62366-1 (application of usability engineering to medical devices), FDA Human Factors Guidance, and IEC 62304 (software lifecycle processes for medical devices).
bullet iconFamiliarity with UI kits and/or design systems and maintaining design consistency across products.
bullet iconKnowledge of accessibility standards and best practices in medical device design.
bullet iconExperience with Jira and Agile methodology.
bullet iconExperience designing for 3D applications or in 3D modeling
