Senior UX Designer

The Senior UX Designer will model excellent UX principles to create usable, accessible, and engaging user experiences for Visa’s digital product line.
You will work across multiple time zones and collaborate with product, engineering, marketing, and analytics as well as interact closely with internal and external users to solicit feedback and test your designs.
Role responsibilities include:
Collaborate with business partners and build upon their vision using sound UX principles.
Own and make design decisions based on a thorough understanding of contemporary user-centered design principles.
Exercise independent judgment with minimal direction from supervisor.
Consult with engineers to ensure technical feasibility of your designs.
Demonstrate clear understanding of user-centered design and be an advocate for the user.
Capture requirements and create workflows, wireframes, prototypes and fully fleshed out designs.
Create research plans and conduct user research and usability sessions.
Define success metrics as part of the end-to-end UX process.
Effectively demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
Present and inform on design decisions to internal and external stakeholders.
Essential Functions
Proficiency designing high-fidelity mockups and prototypes using Figma, Sketch or other industry tools
Experience designing for SaaS products
Subject Matter Expertise in interaction design
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including thorough and methodical attention to detail
Ability to communicate concepts and recommendations confidently to a variety of audiences
Ability to self-manage time and work independently or as part of a team
An online or PDF portfolio that demonstrates outstanding product and ecosystem thinking
Experience conducting usability tests (including designs with WCAG compliance) a plus
Experience working with SCRUM in an Agile environment a plus
Subject Matter Expertise in Accessibility (508/WCAG) a plus
Group facilitation and teaching (design thinking) skills a plus
Experience designing financial experiences a plus
Relocation assistance is not provided for this role.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Basic Qualifications
• 2 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)
Preferred Qualifications
• 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
in Human Factors, Design, Psychology, Sociology or related field
Additional Information
Work Authorization: Permanent Authorization to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment for this position. Visa will not sponsor applicants for work visas in connection with this position.
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 102,300.00 to 130,500.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
