UI/UX Designer

Overview

GovCIO is currently looking for an UI/UX Developer for our GPO proposal. This position will be remote.

Responsibilities

  • Design the Web user interface for all for public facing government website supporting underlying content management and search capabilities
  • Collaborate with the customer and developers to define and implement innovative solutions for product direction, visuals, and the user experience.
  • Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering
  • Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness and accessibility to complex design roadblocks.
  • Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, and sitemaps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
  • Present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables.
  • Conduct user research, evaluate user feedback, and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Establish, document, and promote design guidelines, best practices, and standards.
  • Maintain a style guide for the public facing website
  • Review and enhance the mobile experience.
  • Serve as subject matter experts for Web and web content management system.
  • Maintain, run, review, and resolve visual regression testing during testing sprints.
  • Review the website for accessibility and make improvements to ensure compliance and accessibility.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience: 7+ years of experience in UI/UX design for web and mobile applications.
  • Portfolio: A strong portfolio demonstrating experience in designing user interfaces and user experiences

Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma, InVision, etc.
    • Knowledge of HTML/CSS; JavaScript is a plus.
    • Familiarity with responsive design principles and practicess

Soft Skills:

      • Strong problem-solving skills and a user-centric mindset.
      • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
      • Attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
      • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with agile development processes.
  • Understanding of accessibility standards and guidelines (e.g., WCAG).
  • Experience with A/B testing and data-driven design.

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Pay range: $85,000 – $125,000 Annually
