Position Summary

The User Experience Designer will lead the design and implementation of intuitive, engaging, and cohesive user experiences and interfaces across our digital platforms. This role is responsible for understanding user needs, business goals, and technology capabilities to deliver top-notch user-centered design solutions. This position will collaborate closely with the Project Management team, the Development team, the Automated Testing team, the Marketing team, and end users.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the user experience strategy, ensuring alignment with the bank’s digital goals.
  • Oversee the development of wireframes, prototypes, and user flows.
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, marketing, and product, to deliver seamless experiences.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to keep our user experience practices up to date.
  • Ensure accessibility and inclusivity in all design products.
  • Provide insights on improving customer satisfaction through data-driven decisions.
  • Responsible for monitoring implemented solutions, gathering feedback and recommending further enhancements to align with evolving banking needs.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by integrating feedback and lessons learned.
  • Provide direct and/or indirect supervision to team.

Other Responsibilities

  • Support and promote the Bank vision, mission and core values, organizational structure and policies and procedures.
  • Be highly focused, able to rapidly determine key priorities, clearly communicate the priorities and ensure resources are properly aligned.
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills as necessary for maintaining effective relationships with Board members, officers, employees, and members of the business and civic community.
  • Work under high pressure situations in a stressful atmosphere while remaining composed.
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings.
  • Provide strong, compassionate and visible leadership, which fosters positive attitudes and trust among employees, customers, and prospects.
  • Develop and mentor rising talent in the IT department.
  • Mental concentration is required to perform concurrent tasks and meet deadlines while tolerating frequent interruptions.
  • Comply with federal and state regulations and all established bank policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience (5+ years preferred) in User Experience and User Interface design.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing User Experience and User Interface projects and processes.
  • Proficiency in User Experience design tools like Sketch, Figma, or Adobe XD.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Must have excellent technical, analytical, observational, and decision-making skills.
  • Work efficiently in a collaborative team environment.
  • Must possess an adaptive, empathetic, collaborative, and positive mindset.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a business environment.
  • Must be physically present in the bank to perform these job duties.
