User Interface Designer

Who We Need:

The User Interface designers help support businesses across screens and ultimately make home financing more approachable. In addition, the UI designer owns defining, building, and maintaining our design system, Kinetic, and ensuring consistency and quality across all our products. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including UX designers, developers, and product managers, to create a cohesive and scalable design language that enhances user experiences and drives business goals.

What You Will Do:  

  • Design System Development: Help lead the design and development of our design system, including tokens, components, patterns, guidelines, and documentation.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with UX designers, developers, and product managers to ensure the design system is integrated seamlessly into product design and development.
  • Consistency and Quality: Ensure design consistency and high-quality user experiences across all products by maintaining and evolving design system governance.
  • User-Centered Design: Advocate for user-centered design principles and practices within the design system and across the organization, such as clarity, consistency, and accessibility.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate and advocate for the design system to stakeholders, ensuring buy-in and alignment with business objectives.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends and best practices, continuously improving the design system to meet evolving user and business needs.
  • Product design: Work closely with product managers and developers on any additional UI design needs for any of our mortgage technology products or experiences.

What You Need:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 3-7+ years of experience in UI/UX design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work on design systems and large-scale digital products.
  • Experience building enterprise design systems leveraging variables and tokens for theming against multiple brands and products.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping tools. Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and front-end development principles.
  • Understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, theming and system tokens, design-to-code workflows, and accessibility standards.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in using data to drive design decisions.
  • A broad understanding of branding and it’s relationship with design language and systems..
  • Juggle multiple projects while effectively managing timelines and stakeholder  expectations.
  • Presentation skills to showcase designs, explain rationale, and push ideas forward with various stakeholders within the organization.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from eighty three thousand dollars to one hundred twenty four thousand dollars, determined based on the applicant’s experience, skillset, education, training, certificates, and licenses.
