DESCRIPTION
Job Description:
We are seeking an ambitious and open-minded Mid-to Senior UI/UX Designer with strong visual design skills. In this role, you will work alongside an entrepreneurial team of designers, product leaders, engineers, and data scientists to design inclusive, immersive, and thought-provoking experiences for our diverse portfolio of products. This individual must thrive in creative environments, have experience solving complex design projects, and be able to implement design thinking to marry customer needs with exceptional digital experiences. Your goal will be to innovate and build superior user experiences to bring our cutting-edge applications to our customers. The ideal candidate is someone independent who has experience designing web & mobile applications to high standards. Each product starts with a journey of understanding user needs and gathering requirements. You will be expected to come up with solutions based on requirements and pain points with user flows and wireframes that allow the user to navigate a product with ease. The visual design phase is just as important as the ideation and wireframing phase, as aesthetics and creativity transform tedious tasks into an engaging user experience.
Key Responsibilities:
· Partner with product managers, engineers, researchers, and other designers to define and create great user experiences from initial concept through successful implementation.
· Visualize and prototype solutions at various levels of fidelity, including high-level wireframes, conceptual designs, design presentations, and detailed specifications.
· Collaborate closely with Agile Scrum teams to deliver customer value iteratively.
· Ensure designs meet all required accessibility standards for both government and commercial systems.
· Utilize customer insights from analytics and interactions to inform business and design decisions.
· Facilitate and participate in user research, including interviews and usability testing, to validate designs and make iterative improvements.
· Lead design-thinking exercises to solve complex design challenges collaboratively.
· Produce sketches, workflow diagrams, wireframes, and prototypes.
· Lead product demos for clients and key stakeholders.
· Utilize a variety of human-centered design methods and best practices.
Key Skills:
· Ability to lead projects with minimal oversight.
· Proactively engage with teammates to drive toward shared understanding and clarity in complex problem spaces.
· Share best practices, ideas, and feedback to improve team performance.
· Develop empathy for customers and advocate for their needs.
· Systems thinker with an interest in exploring how different parts of a complex system fit together seamlessly.
· Understanding of UI/UX and website design, web movement, functionality, and conversion.
· Knowledge of video editing, print/web art requirements, and content management systems is a plus.
· Advanced communication skills for a variety of audiences (written, verbal, and presentation).
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to take extreme ownership of your work.
· Passion for software development and a commitment to continued learning and growth.
· Collaborative and open-minded approach to work.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Minimum Qualifications:
· 5+ years of experience as a UI/UX or Product Designer.
· Strong design portfolio showcasing your process and final design solutions.
· Knowledge of accessibility standards (Section 508).
· Understanding of usability factors in Human-Computer Interaction.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
· Ability to discuss and explain design options effectively.
· Critical thinker, problem solver, and customer-centered approach.
· Proficiency in Adobe range of products, including Figma and Adobe XD.
· Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
Bonus Qualifications:
· Experience working on government projects.
