Intrepid Studios is looking for a highly motivated and talented UX Designer to join us here in beautiful Southern California. This role will be a part of the UI Team, working with designers and engineers to create an intuitive and comprehensive UI that helps drive and evolve on the experiences that only Intrepid can provide! What you will accomplish:

• Collaborate with designers, engineers, and artists to define and execute the overall flow/design of Ashes of Creation’s UI while maintaining a consistent design language.
• Develop iterative designs based on feedback and requirements.
• Create, improve and utilize wireframes, prototypes, style guides and user flows to effectively communicate your interaction ideas.
• Execute on all visual design stages and coordinate with developers from concept to final implementation.
• Implement systems and menus into the game using modern design best practices and tools.
• Conceptualize ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to our systems.
• Create responsive interfaces using predefined components, or by building new components to add to our design systems.
• Efficiently self-manage to balance working independently and with other developers
• Create and document complex systems in a clear manner for others to rely on as a reference and to potentially expand upon.

What you bring to the team:

•  A minimum of 3+ years of experience working as a UX Designer with an established portfolio of work.
• Solid understanding of modern UX design principles and the ability to apply them to complex systems
• An understanding of human-centered design approaches and an adherence to UI/UX best practices
• Proficiency with Photoshop, Illustrator, XD, Sketch, Figma and other visual design or wireframing tools.
• A drive to design and evolve Intrepid’s visual language
• A positive, collaborative, and self-motivated mindset that works well with other developers.

Extra Awesome:

• Experience in AAA game development
• Experience conducting user research or analyzing research findings
• Experience with Unreal Engine
• A Passion for making and playing MMO games
• Familiarity with Ashes of Creation
• A portfolio or demo reel that demonstrates a keen eye for detail and the ability to create great user experiences and interfaces.

The Legal Bits:

We offer competitive pay based on market standards plus a significant annual bonus structure. The base salary for this role is between $66,000 – $99,000, depending on skills and experience. Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall throughout the range based on these factors.
