This is an exciting opportunity for a designer to join a team building AI SaaS and data products for investor relations and sustainability teams at public companies.
We are a small team of designers looking for an individual contributor who can collaborate across product and technology functions in the IR Intelligence Business. We work globally across teams so flexibility in schedule and strong remote communication skills are a must. As a group, we are always looking to improve the experience of our users in a multitude of ways –– large and small. We are prioritizing features that need to be delivered quickly and managing longer term goals including proof-of-concepts. We are looking for a designer who can do the same –– a highly organized self-starter who can work across multiple projects, learn new technologies, manage their time well and deliver at a regular cadence.
Role and responsibilities:
• Create designs for web and mobile platforms to support user success and business goals
• Build and quickly iterate on wireframes, mock-ups, and interactive prototypes based on feedback and research
• Advocate for user needs: Plan and moderate contextual user interviews and usability tests to validate design decisions
• Collaborate with product stakeholders, business and technology teams to find practical solutions to design challenges.
• Be involved in the QA process to ensure implementation meets design standards
• Learn concepts in the Investor Relations, Sustainability and Governance business in order to best understand our users’ needs.
Skills and Experience:
• 2+ years of UX design experience, preferably with B2B SaaS products
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
• Solid foundation in interaction and visual design; knowledge of core UX competencies such as prototyping, user research, user flows, persona, journey maps, and human-centered design/design thinking principles
• Ability to translate complex requirements and user needs into intuitive designs
• Experience working with design systems and adhering to company style guidelines
• Proficiency with industry-standard design tools such as Figma, and you know when it’s appropriate to wireframe and when a high-resolution prototype is needed.
• Excellent communication and soft skills: You are comfortable presenting to, listening to, and closely working with product managers, engineers, clients, and other designers. You can articulate your design decisions and the problem you’re solving. You have the ability and flexibility to collaborate remotely with global teams using products such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom to communicate.
• Working knowledge of HTML/CSS/JS
• A portfolio of relevant work is required for consideration. It should illustrate your involvement and how you contributed to solving specific problems.
And it would be great if you have:
• Leading user research campaigns and conducting usability tests
• Designing B2B products and mobile technologies
• In financial technology
• With agile and design sprints, closely collaborating with developers
• In data visualization
Additional Job Description:
• Education Required: Degree qualified in a relevant discipline, for example, Human Computer Interactions, Information Systems, Cognitive Science, Graphic Design or equivalent work experience.
• Experience Required: 2 or more years in a user experience design role.
• Knowledge of design fundamentals including interaction design, visual design, industry UI and accessibility standards for desktop, web-based and mobile applications, and general usability best practices.
• Special Qualifications: Proficiency with wireframing, prototyping and/or interface design software, such as Figma, Sketch, Axure, Adobe XD or Balsamiq; general knowledge of graphic design software, such as Adobe Photoshop, and tools for user research and analytics, such as Maze, Pendo, etc.
• Certifications: Design-related professional certifications are helpful, but not required, such as Certified Usability Analyst, awarded by Human Factors International, or UX Certification, awarded by NN/g.
• Experience using or experimenting with AI tools as part of an existing role.
This position can be located in Toronto, and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment (at least 2 days a week in office, subject to change), providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.
