UX/UI Designer

Enterprise Knowledge (EK) is hiring for a full-time UX/UX Designer to join our growing Knowledge & Data Services Sector. This individual will design intuitive and user-centric experiences for a range of clients. As with all of our positions, we are seeking independent thinkers with exceptional communication skills, both written and oral. In this role, you will be helping clients design cutting-edge knowledge management solutions such as knowledge graphs, headless content management systems, enterprise search tools, and chatbots.

This Hybrid role requires that you live within a comfortable commutable distance of our Arlington office and that you are willing to be on-site a few days a week.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitating requirements gathering and design definition sessions to create user-centered designs by understanding business requirements and user feedback
  • Developing and validating low/high fidelity wireframes, user flows, site maps, prototypes and mockups for products and services that clearly illustrate solutions and accurately communicate project plans
  • Designing graphic designs and user interface elements, flyers, web design & marketing materials
  • Supporting teams with UI/UX deliverables as part of knowledge and data management solutions including knowledge graphs, search, CMS development, and advanced AI design features such as chatbots
  • Participating in team and client discussions to uncover user needs and conduct design-related research & discovery
  • Roadmapping and implementing best in class UX and UI content strategies that demonstrate understanding of the most recent trends and innovations
  • Coaching stakeholders and team members on UX best practices
  • Recommending methods and tools for UX design and improvement
  • Playing an active role in collaborative, Agile teams

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human-computer interactions, user experience, design, communications or a related field
  • 4 years or more of UI/UX design experience
  • 2 years or more of experience working directly with users and stakeholders to uncover and prioritize product features and functionality using Design Thinking approaches, methods, and tools
  • A portfolio and/or work samples showing wireframes, site maps, user flows, and other relevant deliverables
  • Experience with remote user testing and facilitation methods, including stakeholder interviews, workshops, and or/focus groups, as well as usability testing
  • Experience designing user-centric experiences for mobile, tablet, and desktop solutions
  • Strong visual design experience required, preferably with marketing collateral
  • The ability to track, work on, and prioritize efforts with competing deadlines and be able to deliver on-time
  • The ability to interact professionally with a diverse audience including system users, executives, managers, and subject matter experts

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Certification in Human-Centered Design and/or Design Thinking
  • Experience leading or facilitating user research independently
  • Ability to draft research plans
  • Prototyping skills (in XD and/or Figma)
  • Interest in/aptitude for UX-adjacent disciplines, like front-end development, graphic design, or content strategy
  • Experience in optimizing user experience for advanced data applications
  • Experience working in a cross-functional, Agile software development team
  • Background in UI tools and technologies a plus
  • Experience with leading Customer Experience engagements
  • Exceptional project and time management skills
