As the Warranty Transformation UX/UI Designer, you’ll play a critical role by facilitating, generating, and executing transformational user experiences for the new warranty platform. You’ll work closely with dealers and multiple different teams across Caterpillar (Product Groups, Industry teams, Global Purchasing, Global Quality, Cat Insurance, Treasury, Corporate Accounting, Goodwill, Cat IT, Cat Digital, and more) to translate user needs and build frictionless experiences that ultimately drive a whole new level of efficiency and simplicity for Caterpillar and dealer warranty operations.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Partner with digital product owners and process owners to capture UX/UI needs
  • Define a user experience strategy that includes a common, unified, end-to-end experience
  • Create journey maps, user flows, and personas
  • Integrate the warranty platform UI/UX roadmaps into the overall warranty transformation program
  • Create wireframes, user flows, visual design assets, and interactive prototypes/high fidelity mockups
  • Create polished, production-ready UI designs
  • Conceptualize and communicate design ideas to stakeholders of all levels
  • Lead all UX architecture and interface design deliverables, project management for design, and UX assignments

Skills

Creativity: Knowledge of the approaches, tools, and techniques for promoting creative, original thinking and ability to apply it to a variety of business situations.
Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
Computer Software Industry: Knowledge of computer software industry; ability to understand future products, vendors, technologies, issues, and trends and directions.
Web Software Design: Knowledge of web software design; ability to design, develop, maintain and enhance web-based or web-enabled software.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in User Experience, Interaction, Graphic, Industrial, New Media or related Design. Open to consider different educational background based on professional experiences
  • Experience with designing digital product experiences
  • Proficient with Figma, or other associated design tools

  • Excellent collaborator, team player, and excels at performing with initiative
  • Exceptional design skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to listen and capture experience needs
  • Experience in Interaction Architecture, UI/UX design, Customer Experience and/or User Experience and knowledge of UX industry standards, usability, and design trends
  • Human-Centered Design (HCD): Knowledge of Human-Centered Design (HCD) model, principle, and concepts; ability to understand the perspective of people who experience a problem, their needs, and provide them with a solution which truly meets their needs effectively
  • User Experience Design: Knowledge of user experience design tools, techniques and approaches; ability to design applications that are valued, positively perceived and adopted by users
  • User Interface Design: Knowledge of activities, practices, deliverables and considerations; ability to design effective graphic user interfaces for delivery of information to users desktop workstation
  • Creativity: Knowledge of the approaches, tools, and techniques for promoting creative, original thinking and ability to apply it to a variety of business situations
  • Familiar with design sprints and the agile methodology
