As Design Leaders, we can rise to the challenge of recreating our work environments, creating healthy team environments and deliver impactful work to users. Who better to design the future of work? Middle Management sucks in general. Add on leading through the biggest down shift in the Design profession, increased pressures on ROI and “doing more with less” and lack of investment in learning leadership and you get the most stressful work environment in years. As an experienced Design Leader and now coach, I will share real-world examples of how the future of Design Leadership is evolving. I will share my thesis that rooting in our empathy, values and design talents we can have system-wide impact on our teams (meaningful careers), companies (business and customer value) and society (wellbeing and creativity).
