Core Responsibilities
- Lead the creation of product concepts that translate creative vision and narrative into compelling, consumer‑relevant LEGO expressions aligned with business goals.
- Deliver innovative, joyful, and immersive build & play experiences by shaping how concepts evolve into high‑quality, recognizable LEGO products.
- Define the strategy of LEGO Designs visual language of LEGO interactive product (passive) and Interactive Technology Product (responsive).
- Define and maintain design standards, principles, and continuity frameworks to ensure consistency, quality, and brand integrity across all design outputs.
- Build and strengthen design capabilities by developing functional expertise, coaching design talent, and supporting growth across fields.
- Drive product design excellence in partnership with Operational Excellence to balance workload, optimize allocation, and ensure timely delivery across consumer/passion groups.
- Continuously improve design processes, tools, and creative workflows to enhance efficiency, collaboration, and innovative output.
- Collaborate closely with Creative Leadership to share accountability for portfolio success, ensuring alignment between creative direction and business priorities.
- Ensure integration with Design Governance and Creative Excellence, aligning on guidelines, maintaining inclusion of VAD, and supporting clear functional USPs within the design organization.

They ensure outputs are visually appealing, experiential, and resonate with the audience, staying ahead of market trends.
This role supports the organization by collaborating with marketing, sales, and product development to deliver a cohesive brand experience. The leadership role should foster creativity and innovation, driving organizational success!
Do you have what it takes?
- An educational background related to a technical or craft‑based design field (e.g., Industrial Design, Model Making, Materials/Plastics Engineering, Experience Design) may be beneficial for candidates whose background relies on specialized creative or technical expertise
- Significant experience in product design, concept development, or creative leadership, with a proven ability to turn creative direction into concrete, consumer‑relevant product concepts.
- Demonstrated expertise in delivering high‑quality or experience‑based interactive passive and interactive technology play products, ideally within a design‑driven, consumer‑facing organization.
- Strong capability in design systems, standards, and continuity, ensuring consistent quality and recognizable creative expression across multiple projects.
- Experience leading and developing multidisciplinary design teams, including coaching, capability building, and fostering a culture of creativity.
- Proven ability to manage capacity, resources, and prioritization across multiple projects or portfolios in partnership with operational or production teams.
- Strong competency in improving creative processes, tools, and workflows, with the ability to remove friction and enhance innovation output.
- Excellent collaboration and stakeholder‑management skills, with experience partnering closely with creative leaders and cross‑functional teams to drive shared business outcomes.
- Willingness to travel for workshops, consumer immersions, or cross‑site collaboration as required.
Nice to Have
- Experience working within a design‑led, creative, or consumer products organization, especially in roles connected to play, storytelling, or experience design.
- Familiarity with LEGO design processes, tools, or element libraries, or previous collaboration with LEGO‑adjacent creative teams.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate creative workshops, design sprints, or co‑creation sessions that drive innovation and team alignment.
- Background in industrial design, human‑centered design, CMF, or prototyping that enhances design–to–concept translation.
- Brings a strong trend and consumer sensibility, with awareness of cultural insights and emerging design methodologies.
- Shows initiative by seeing opportunities to improve workflows, elevate creative output, and unlock team potential, while thriving in a team-oriented, highly collaborative environment that fosters psychological safety and shared creative ownership.
- Experience working in global or multicultural environments, able to navigate diverse perspectives and build inclusive partnerships.
