Director of Brand, Content & Creative

Pelmen Foods is one of Canada's leading frozen food manufacturers, proudly producing premium frozen foods for over 30 years. Our growing portfolio includes Pelmen Foods, Holy Perogy!, BigYum, and licensed consumer brands.
We are seeking a highly creative and commercially minded Director of Brand, Content & Creative to lead the strategy, positioning, and creative direction of our brands.
This is a hands-on leadership role. We're not looking for someone who simply manages agencies and
meetings. We're looking for someone who can think strategically, build brands, develop campaigns, direct content creation, and elevate the quality of everything consumers see.
What You'll Do
Brand Strategy & Creative Direction
- Lead brand positioning, messaging, visual identity, and creative vision across multiple brands.
- Ensure consistency across all consumer-facing touchpoints.
- Develop brand strategies that support growth and market expansion.
Campaign & Product Launch Leadership
- Lead the creative development of new product launches.
- Develop integrated marketing campaigns across retail, social, digital, and trade channels.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen brand awareness and consumer engagement.
Creative Development & Quality Control
- Oversee packaging, advertising, social content, retail marketing materials, websites, presentations, photography, and video.
- Review and approve creative assets before release.
- Maintain high standards of design and execution across all brands.
Consumer, Market & Competitive Insights
- Monitor category trends, consumer behavior, competitors, and emerging opportunities.
- Translate insights into actionable brand initiatives.
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor internal creatives, freelancers, agencies, photographers, and production partners.
- Help build a strong creative culture focused on quality, speed, and innovation.
Qualifications
Ideal Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in brand management, creative leadership, or a related role.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating branding, packaging, campaign, and content work.
- Experience leading creative projects from concept through execution.
- Strong understanding of consumer behavior and marketing strategy.
- Excellent visual design and creative judgment.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPG experience.
- Food and beverage experience.
- Packaging design expertise.
- Retail marketing experience.
- Photography and video art direction experience.
- Experience working with multiple brands simultaneously.
- Strong Adobe Creative Suite skills.
