Principal UI/UX Designer

We are seeking a talented and experienced Principal UI/UX Designer to join our team in revolutionizing the automotive industry through cutting-edge embedded and cloud software solutions.

As a Principal UI/UX Designer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience of our products, ensuring they meet the highest standards of usability, functionality, and aesthetic appeal. You will lead by example, driving design excellence while mentoring and guiding other UI/UX designers.

Duties and Responsibilities

    • Lead the design of intuitive and user-friendly graphical interfaces for web and mobile platforms, focusing on enhancing the user experience across all touchpoints.
    • Develop and maintain robust design systems and guidelines to ensure consistency and scalability across our automotive software products.
    • Create wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes to visualize and communicate design concepts effectively.
    • Conduct user research, usability testing, and analyze user feedback to iterate on designs and make data-driven decisions that drive product improvements.
    • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, front-end and back-end developers, to integrate design seamlessly into the development process.
    • Support and maintain design processes from concept to productization.
    • Mentor and coach other UI/UX designers, providing constructive feedback, guidance on best practices, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth within the design team.
    • Stay up to date with emerging trends in UI/UX design, technology, and best practices in UI/UX design, leveraging insights to innovate and elevate our design processes and outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience

    • 8+ years of experience in UI/UX design, with a strong track record of designing and delivering successful products for B2B and SaaS applications, preferably in the automotive or related industries.
    • Demonstrated expertise in user-centered design principles, typography, color theory, and layout, showcased through a comprehensive portfolio of past projects.
    • Proven experience collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
    • Proficiency in Figma is essential.
    • Passion for creating simple, elegant, and innovative design solutions that delight users and drive business objectives.
    • Self-motivated, persistent, organized, ability to multi-task across several design projects.
    • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and rationale to stakeholders at all levels.
    • Master’s degree in graphic design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field.
