Product Design Manager

Product Design Manager

We are looking for a Product Design Manager for our Upsiide application. This position plays a key role in defining the future of the fast-growing Upsiide. As a product we put great emphasis on design and UX and as such our Product Design Manager is a key position that interfaces with many across the business.

In this position you may find yourself defining, creating, and maintaining design systems and standards, and well as working closely with stakeholders, end-users, and engineers to ensure the product is meeting needs in the best possible way. Perhaps most importantly, you’ll be leading a team of best-in-class designers and ensuring the ongoing health and growth of Design at Upsiide.

 

Your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Implement a user/UX testing program to help us put data behind our decisions and make the best product possible.
  • Work with our in-house qual team and moderators to find user testing synergies.
  • Work to build and implement an Upsiide style guide, design standards, and work with engineers on a corresponding component library.
  • Work to understand the Upsiide client and their needs from the product, including interviewing real users as desired.
  • Collaborate closely with your counterparts in Product Management, Engineering, QA, Marketing, and other teams as required to ensure your voice is heard and your vision is being fully executed.
  • Work to help us modernize our design systems and assist with migration plans to better ways of working.
  • Be loud with your ideas, and fearless with your POV in all contexts.
  • Understand that the above in not comprehensive and you are a leader on the team who may be required to be scrappy one minute, and high-level strategic the next.
  • Understand that Dig is a quickly growing company that maintains its start-up roots and no task is above or below any employee.

 

Experience, Skills and Requirements
  • 3+ years working in UX/UI/product design, ideally in high-growth SaaS environment.
  • Comfort level interfacing with and presenting to company leadership.
  • Experience working collaboratively with other departments, like Marketing, Sales, and CS.
  • Experience working on world-class web and mobile software products supported by design systems, optimally contributing to those systems.
  • Portfolio showcasing past and current work.
  • Experience with low- and high-fidelity prototyping/design tools (such as Sketch and Figma).
  • Experienced in working with Prototyping Applications (InVision, Figma).
  • Experience with creating design systems/style guides.
  • Experience with Responsive adaptive web design.
  • Experience with extensive and agile quality assurance practices.
  • Superior time management skills.
  • Highly organized with obsessive attention to detail.
  • Willing and able to work within a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Comfortable with scrappiness, rapid iteration, and continuous shipping cycles.
  • Ability to work within and meet tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated work ethic, integrity, and professional conduct.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Skilled in UX copy writing.

 

Nice to have:
  • Familiarity with front-end development: HTML, CSS
  • Comfort with both digital and traditional design disciplines
  • Experience with web standards and accessibility standards (WCAG 2.0)
